Noah and Ryan had just beaten the Monster King (again!) when the screen turned GOLD. Then something slid right out of it…

The ticket was warm, glittery and very, VERY official.

Noah grabbed the ticket — and the screen grabbed BOTH of them. FWOOOSH! (They had been sucked into games before. It never gets less weird.)

All over the Arcade, golden tickets popped out of EVERYTHING: a lighthouse lamp, a hot-dog cart, a goo puddle, a caveman's club…

At the Monster King's castle, the King read his ticket three times. The Glitch King read it once and started stretching.

In CELLBLOCK 9 a ticket floated straight into the Guard's flashlight. In Dino Hoop Dash the T-Rex came up out of the ground holding one. And VIPER? Viper just floored it.

Even the Arcade Pets got tickets. Glorplet, Bitbot and Ember tumbled in together, because that is how pets do everything.

THUD. SPLAT. BOING. Seventeen champions dropped out of the sky into a stadium nobody had ever seen: spotlights, a roaring crowd, and one shiny ring right in the middle.

A giant scoreboard flickered on with the rules. Somebody had clearly been here before them, though. Somebody with a can of pink spray paint.

Then three spotlights snapped on, for three fighters NOBODY had ever seen. The first one didn't bother with a portal. Ember Kota arrived as a COMET.

The second skated in on a trail of lightning, holding the very last golden ticket. Zipp Ampere is a courier, and Zipp Ampere has never, EVER been late.

The third drifted down like a feather, a long lilac ponytail trailing behind and a crescent of moonlight in hand. The crowd went completely silent. Then completely WILD.

The Monster King didn't even wait for the bell. Fire blast. Stretchy fist. Comet punch. Lightning dash. Crescent wave. KA-BOOOM! The King bounced off the ropes like a very purple beach ball.

Then the scoreboard flashed again. ROUND ONE: EVERYONE vs EVERYONE! Heroes, villains, pets: nobody was on a team any more. Chaos. Wonderful, bouncy chaos. (GLORP found the popcorn.)

Noah and Ryan stood back to back with three brand-new friends. Rivals? Friends! The Comical Battlegrounds had begun… and somewhere out there is a golden ticket with YOUR name on it.
